About The Apprenticeship

Build Your Future in Construction

The Construction Craft Laborer Registered Apprenticeship is a hands-on, paid 4,000-hour training program offered by the Department of Workforce Efficiency (D.O.W.E.).

 

Designed specifically for veterans and transitioning service members, this program allows you to earn full-time wages while receiving structured mentorship and industry certifications.

 

No prior construction experience is required.

 

You will work on real job sites across Central Texas, mastering site development, concrete, infrastructure, renewable energy, and jobsite safety while earning an industry-recognized Journeyworker credential.

Site development, material handling, trenching, structural assembly, and jobsite support.

Concrete finishing, general construction, highway tasks, asphalt, and traffic control.

OSHA safety practices, electrical hazard awareness, CPR/First Aid, fall protection, and PPE procedures.

Solar installation, hand and power tool mastery, and reading workprints/blueprints.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for the program and the upcoming Austin interview sessions, applicants must meet the following criteria

Military Status

Veteran or transitioning U.S. service member (Guard & Reserve welcome).

Availability

Available for an in-person interview in Austin on September 21 or September 22.

03

Work Authorization & Age

18+ years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.

04

Requirements

Valid government-issued photo ID and reliable transportation to Central Texas jobsites.

05

Physical Readiness

Able to perform outdoors, hands-on physical labor (lifting, standing, bending) and follow safety instructions in English.
